Leaflet is very good. The interface is smooth. Everything pretty much works. Linking is easy. The combination of simple markdown and responsive writing interface is really good.
The only thing that I’d have lived to see is images represented as their chosen extensions rather than blobs. It is a minor inconvenience that the links do not show in some web clients, but everything looks OK if we use standard markdown syntax. It’s a minor “inconvenience”, if at all.
Personally, leaflet is the most fun writing environment. I really like the convenience of this platform. I increasingly start liking atproto. The syntax is easy to understand, the protocol is brilliant. I am not necessarily tied to the Bluesky PDS, I have other options. Everything is very flexible. It’s one account that lets me entry into a host of apps. There are tons of apps and they all just work.
This is different from fediverse. For example, if I were to write this on Writefreeky with its barebones markdown, I would. But this interface and likewise the interface of offprint, which I am planning to use for my company newsletter, are great. The other great thing about leaflet is the ability to collaboratively edit the text.
The convenience of uploading images is excellent. By the way, the above image is that of the honeycomb patterns in the walls of the stone caves in Castle Hill.
